Residential Program

The Residential Program provides a wide range of services to battered women, battered men, and their children. Counseling and safety planning begin the moment the client calls or comes in for help, and one-on-one counseling is a core residential service. The case workers provide much needed support, consistency, and motivation to the residents while helping them move forward toward empowerment and independence. Personal safety is always a primary concern, as many batterers continue to exert control and may stalk their victim even after they enter shelter.

The Residential Program provides everything clients need while in residence, so they don';t have to leave the shelter until they feel safe to do so. Clothing, food, transportation, personal hygiene products, use of laundry facilities and phones, etc., are all provided—free of charge—during the resident';s entire length of stay with us. A resident can stay in the shelter for approximately 30-45 days, with extensions given to accommodate safety and individual circumstances.
