Bay Area Women’s Center provides a First Response Program to assist victims of domestic violence at the scene of the attack in Bay and Arenac counties.

Referrals are made by Bay City Police, Michigan State Police, Bay County and Arenac County Sheriff Departments, Bay Regional Medical Center, St. Mary’s Hospital of Standish and 911 dispatch. 

First Responders provide survivors with immediate crisis counseling, safety planning, emergency cell phone service, referrals to community services, (including BAWC services and shelter programs) and transportation when needed.
